Zindzi Mandela, daughter of former South African president and liberation hero Nelson Mandela has reportedly died in a hospital in Johannesburg. She rose to prominence when she read out her father’s rejection of then-president P.W. Botha’s offer for freedom in 1985.
She served as South Africa’s ambassador to Denmark, and reportedly died in a hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Spokesman for ANC, Pule Mabe had this to say. “This is untimely. She still had a role to play in the transformation of our own society and a bigger role to play even in the African National Congress.”
Mr Mabe said further details would be provided in due course. No response has been given by The Nelson Mandela Foundation as regards her death.
We pray that her soul rest in peace, and send our prayers and condolences to her family.
