The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, has been sacked by the governing council of the institution.
Information gathered that his removal was announced during a meeting of the Governing Council of the institution which held at the National Universities Commission (NUC) building in Abuja on Wednesday, 12th August. The meeting was presided over by Pro-Chancellor Dr. Wale Babalakin (SAN).
Seven members voted for the removal of Ogundipe (UNILAG Vice-Chancellor) while four voted against it. One member voted that he should be suspended.
Let’s hope the ensuing politics within the university doesn’t affect the resumption of the students they are made to preside over.
